Bucknell University is pleased to announce that we are hiring two new Animal Caretakers (level I or level II). Animal Caretakers are active participants in the routine care and husbandry of the animals housed on campus. These positions support the use of animals for teaching and research in the Psychology and Biology departments and the Neuroscience and Animal Behavior programs. The Animal Caretakers are expected to carry out their duties in strict adherence to USDA, OLAW, IACUC, and other relevant state and federal regulations, and based on best practices. These positions report to the Animal Caretaker Manager.

Tenure Track, Assistant Professor of Music (Music Education) Lewisburg, PA
The Department of Music at Bucknell University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Music Education to start in August, 2024. An earned doctorate in music education or an equivalent field is required. Candidates in the final stages of their dissertation will be considered but must have earned their degree within their first year of employment in order to continue employment at Bucknell. Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary level; demonstrated expertise in music education methodologies; and evidence of an ongoing creative and/or scholarly research agenda in the candidate’s area of professional expertise. A competitive candidate will have experience in higher education that demonstrates commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Familiarity with state music education program accreditation practices is preferred. The appointee will have a vision—and a plan for realizing that vision—of what a contemporary music education program, situated in a liberal arts education, can become. Teaching responsibilities for the position include providing oversight of the music education program and contributing to the musical education of the broader student population. Utilities Technician I/II (Plumber) - 2nd Shift Lewisburg, PA
The Facilities Department seeks an Utilities Technician (Plumber) - 2nd shift to serve as the Facilities liaison to the Bucknell community and act as the first responder and primary troubleshooter for technical issues. Incumbent shall have thorough working knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and associated equipment as well as water, sewage, oil, gas, steam, condensate and fire sprinkler/prevention systems and associated equipment. Incumbent shall also have fundamental knowledge of electrical systems / electronics and carpentry.
Custodian - 2nd shift Lewisburg, PA
Seeking team players with great interpersonal skills and stamina! Our Custodians work to make sure that our buildings are neat, clean, free from clutter and safe. They spend their days picking up trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, or using industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors, stocking bathrooms, making sure buildings are secure, cleaning windows. While the majority of custodians’ work is inside buildings, sometimes work might involve some outside work, like setting up for a Bucknell event. Our Custodians need great interpersonal skills and will need to be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
