The HR Generalist, Total Rewards and Recognition supports and assists in the
communication of all aspects of Bucknell’s total rewards, including benefits, wellbeing, compensation, learning and development, and recognition. Primary responsibilities of this position are end to end ownership of the University’s wellness program, retiree relations, and recognition programs. This position works closely with external and internal constituents to assess constituent needs, monitor program utilization and trends, and recommend program enhancements. This position reports directly to the Executive Director, Benefits and Wellness.

Job Duties:
• In collaboration with the total rewards team, responds to requests of active and retired faculty and staff relating to benefits, compensation, and learning and development. Supports the work of the HR Generalist, Benefits and Leave Management; Manager, Compensation; Manager, Learning and Development and Director, Total Rewards and Compensation as needed. (25%)

• Directs, develops and leads the Bucknell faculty and staff wellness program, ensuring the wellness program holistically supports the wellbeing of faculty and staff. Monitors industry norms/trends, serves as primary contact for all wellness vendors, develops and hosts on-campus wellness activities/events, supervises casual staff supporting the wellness program, and handles wellness related inquiries from faculty and staff. (30%)

• Directs, develops and leads all areas of retiree relations, including retirees, their dependents, and current faculty and staff preparing for retirement. Serves as primary contact for retirement plan vendors, manages retirement plan and retiree healthcare enrollments and remittances, and coordinates educational sessions and on campus retirement financial advisor meetings. (30%)

• Executes, evaluates, and enhances the University’s faculty, staff, and retiree recognition programs in collaboration with the Office of the President and Events Management. (15%)

• Develops and distributes employee and retiree communications, plans and hosts events, and regularly presents to faculty, staff, and retirees in-person and virtually with a focus on excellence of service.

• Maintains and updates internal and external wellness, retiree, and recognition related website content for accuracy of information and usability for different constituencies, including the creation of new resources as needed. Seeks continuous technology and process improvement in the delivery of services.

• Actively contributes to Bucknell’s efforts to foster a diverse and inclusive campus community. Supports and promotes the University’s sustainability efforts to protect, maintain, and increase the long-term viability and resilience of the University’s environmental, social, and economic support systems. Participates in campus-wide or department-specific strategic projects, committees, and working groups as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business-related field with a minimum three (3) years of HR experience. Or, a combination of an Associate Degree or SHRM certification with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in Human Resources.
• Demonstrated proficiency in two or more areas of human resources management including but not limited to benefits, compensation, learning and development, wellness, rewards & recognition, and/or DEI.
• Technical proficiency in relevant applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite, HRIS, or other systems to effectively gather, interpret, organize, and present data and information.
• Demonstrated ability to contribute in meaningful ways to diversity, equity, inclusion and a sense of belonging through policy, procedure, programming and community engagement.
• Strong verbal and written presentation and communication skills and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated sound judgment and critical thinking skills; ability to accurately collect information in order to understand and assess the clients' needs and situation.
• Ability to collaborate, influence, and establish trust with campus partners; previous experience building relationships and working with sensitive and confidential information
• Strong organizational skills; evidence of self-motivation; demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and work both independently and in teams within a service-oriented organization
• Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and competing priorities while balancing the need for quality with meeting deadlines


Preferred Qualifications:
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CEBS or other HR professional certifications
• Experience leveraging social media platforms to promote Total Rewards
• Workday ERP experience
• Higher Education experience

Work Type: 
This is a full-time, year round, benefits eligible role.  This position will be considered for scheduling flexibility to work in a hybrid capacity based on staffing and business needs.

This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.

Salary Range:
This is a Staff Exempt position with a hiring range of $63,800-79,750 (E10). The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.

The Community

Lewisburg (pop. 5,700) is located in central Pennsylvania and features beautiful Victorian homes, the restored art deco Campus Theatre (owned by the University), a variety of restaurants, shops and boutiques, and the Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University Bookstore. It is the seat of Union County, which has about 44,000 residents.
