As part of UA and the Center for Career Advancement (CCA), the Coordinator for Industry Experiences & Connections collaborates with and provides support for the Career Communities program and the CCA Career Intern program. Additionally, the coordinator supports the Executive Director in managing data research and reporting for postgraduate activity, CCA activity and employer research, as well as office budgets and operational needs. This position reports to the Executive Director, Career Services.

Data Coordination & Reporting:
• Lead efforts to conduct all outreach communication, maintain individual records and organize all data obtained each year from graduating students for the annual Postgraduate Research Project
• Work closely with Institutional Research, Advancement Information Services and Library & Information Technology staff on continued development of postgraduate survey database throughout data gathering process
• Work with Executive Director to compile data and create extensive annual Postgraduate Report of Activity and summary brochure for internal campus and wider public distribution
• Research and pull/run reports from CCA & UA database systems highlighting CCA activity.
• Research and pull/run reports from CCA & UA database systems for employment/industry info of Bucknell alumni and parents

Program Support:
• Provide logistical support for the Career Communities program, the Career Intern program and for CCA operational needs for Executive director.
• Manage payroll for Career Intern program

Administrative Responsibilities:
• Assist with other office functions and activities as needed and participate in CCA staff and team meetings
• Enter data and maintain confidential student and alumni records, utilizing CCA & UA database systems
• Assist with student and alumni career events both on and off campus as needed
• Assist with office coverage and career@ email account as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years experience in an office setting
• Demonstrates ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts, including those at a higher level and those that are sensitive in nature
• Experience that demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills, independently setting own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines
• Demonstrates proficiency with technology such as database functions/reports, Microsoft Word and Excel, calendar software, internet/email usage, etc.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills with grammar, document formatting, proofreading and research
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a clear, concise writing style

Other Requirements:
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support UA’s events including blocks of time for major events such as Family Weekend, Reunion, and Homecoming, and other event support as required. Staff should mark their calendars for major events and events in their department. Exceptions require supervisory approval. Also required is a commitment to attend, participate or facilitate on-campus or off-campus events/activities outside of standard business hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Four or more years of experience in an office setting
• Experience as senior secretary or administrative assistant
• Experience with database/constituent management systems
• Experience with advanced features of Excel and database reports (pull, sort and analyze comparative data)
• Experience in planning and coordination of large and small scale events
• Experience in a college setting

The Community

Located in central Pennsylvania, Lewisburg features a variety of restaurants, beautiful Victorian homes, the restored art deco Campus Theatre (owned by the University), charming shops and boutiques, and the Barnes and Noble at Bucknell University Bookstore. About 33,000 residents live in the region.

The city of Williamsport is about a 30-minute drive from campus, and Penn State University’s main campus is about an hour away, as is Harrisburg, Pennsylvania’s state capital. Bucknell is about three hours from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

The cost of living here is low compared to that of major U.S. cities and suburbs.
