The Department of Chemistry at Bucknell University invites applications for an open‐rank, tenure‐track faculty position in physical chemistry, broadly defined, to begin August 2020. The successful candidate will teach physical chemistry lectures and lab and will contribute to the teaching of introductory level courses in general chemistry, and/or other courses depending on background and interests. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop advanced courses in their area of specialty. A commitment to excellent teaching in a diverse environment is expected. Development of a strong research program in some area of physical chemistry, which could include computational chemistry, that complements current research within the department and that involves undergraduate and MS‐level research students is expected. The minimum qualification is a Ph.D. in physical chemistry, or a closely related field. Candidates with professional experience are welcome in addition to those with traditional academic experience. ABD candidates will be considered (Ph.D. must be completed prior to second year of employment). We seek someone with the potential to be an outstanding teacher/scholar and who contributes to advancing diversity efforts within the sciences.
