The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Bucknell University seeks applicants for a one-year visiting assistant professor position in the area of geotechnical engineering, starting in August 2018. Candidates are expected to have an earned doctorate or be ABD in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field at time of appointment.
Applications must include a Bucknell-specific cover letter, teaching statement (2 page maximum), research statement (2 page maximum), and current curriculum vitae.
Within your application materials: 1. Articulate your plans to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instruction in introductory and upper-level geotechnical engineering courses; 2. Describe how you will be able to contribute more broadly to the civil engineering curriculum by teaching core civil engineering courses, such as numerical methods, graphics, or engineering materials;
3. Describe your commitment to diversity and inclusive pedagogy and any relevant experience, expertise, or plans in these areas.
