The Religious and Spiritual Life (RSL) Coordinator is a full-time position based in the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life. The RSL Coordinator plays an integral role in the organization, communication, and management of the RSL Office. The RSL Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing day-to-day operations, short term and long term planning, and providing support for RSL Staff and Rooke Chapel. This position also works collaboratively with and in support of the Director of RSL and Chaplain for the Protestant Community, Chaplain for the Muslim Community, Director of the Vocal Ensemble, Organist, and the religious advisers and liaisons. The Director of Religious and Spiritual Life supervises this position. The RSL Coordinator works with many different constituencies, and as a result, must have strong communication and computer skills, and must demonstrate an interest in and sensitivity to different gender, racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation, and/or national backgrounds. The RSL Coordinator will regularly engage with sensitive and confidential information and must exhibit good judgement in accordance with University policy. The work of this office includes knowledge of and respect for various religious and faith traditions and their needs: Muslim, Protestant, Catholic, Seik, Jewish, Buddhist and others. A level of awareness of and sensitivity to the spiritual and emotional crises that sometimes prompt people to call or visit the RSL Office is also important. This is a twelve-month position.

Job Duties: 
- Assist the Director of RSL and Chaplain for the Protestant Community, Chaplain for the Muslim Community, Director of Vocal Ensemble, Director of Ringers, Organist, and other RSL staff with correspondences, mailings, scheduling, travel arrangements, and events, in addition to associated record keeping and reporting.
- Assist with office webpage maintenance, social media presence, marketing and publication materials.
- Oversee the effective functioning of office equipment in addition to arranging the necessary support for repairs and maintenance.
- Recruit, screen, train and supervise all student employees, to include but not limited to student assistants, vocal ensemble, and coordinate all payroll functions.
- Maintain appropriate departmental records as required by University policy.
- Manage, process, and reconcile office financial records, including contracts, expense reports, invoices, purchase cards, travel expenses, and other office expenditures with integrity and appropriate documentation.
- Serve as the department coordinator for keys and virtual and physical entry points.
- Manage and respond to phone, email, and other inquiries with professionalism, care and respect for confidentiality and sensitive information.
- Coordinate and manage logistics for RSL programs, including room reservations, invitations, and promotional materials, volunteer recruitment, purchases and catering, and any required travel.
- Provide a welcoming, generous presence in RSL and the University Fellowship House, an on-campus residence that welcomes students for meals, study breaks and Bible studies.
- Attend and participate in Student Affairs, Diversity and Inclusion and RSL staff meetings, trainings and planning meetings as directed.
- Provide support for Sunday Services to include preparation of materials and meals for vocal ensemble, in partnership with Facilities staff.
- Schedule the use of Rooke Chapel and Fellowship House in concert with Events Management and work with the custodial team to support the use of Rooke Chapel and Fellowship House by RSL and other constituents.
- Coordinate the Candlelight Services, Baccalaureate and other major events in or sponsored by the Chapel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of office experience
- Demonstrated computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (must have the ability and willingness to learn new programs and technologies)
- Proven ability to be reliable and work independently, while also being able to take direction and serve well as part of a team
- Prior experience working with students or a commitment to help foster the growth and development of students
- Strong skills in written, oral and interpersonal communication, organization, and time management
- A friendly, engaging personality and a good sense of humor.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize
- Awareness of issues related to socioeconomic status; gender identity; expression of sexuality; race and ethnicity; ability; national origin; religious and interfaith; and the relationship between power and privilege
- A commitment to diversity and inclusiveness, including religious diversity
- The individual in this position must have a desire to work with people (specifically traditional college age students) and be able to work with confidential and sensitive information (some schedule flexibility is a necessity) (Must support the goals and objectives of the department and commit to a student centered environment that supports diversity and inclusion)

Preferred Qualifications: 
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience working in a higher education environment
- Previous experience managing budgets and financial records
